Vitamins and What They Do

Finding out how to make your hair grow faster does not need to stretch further than looking at your diet and what you put in your body every day. Overall general health is probably the factor that most influences the speed your hair grows at, as well as its strength and shine. Foods like nuts are good sources of selenium, which helps to maintain a healthy scalp. If you have a zinc deficiency, you will also notice an increase in the rate of hair shedding. Many nuts also include zinc, as well as Alpha-linoleic acid. Low fat dairy products, like low fat yoghurt, are good sources of calcium which is vital for good hair growth. There is a comprehensive list of vitamins required for natural healthy and fast hair growth. Biotin, also known as Vitamin H, promotes cell growth and metabolism and has an important role in ensuring healthy hair as well as healthy skin.

Are Hair Implants Advisable for Women?

Oh to have hair grow again! That’s probably what a lot women think when they suffer from severe hair loss. Unfortunately, if the root cause of your problem is totally damaged hair follicles because of DHT, then the most likely solution — when possible — is hair implants for women.

There are women whose body chemistry agree with prescription medication that are topical like minoxidil. Products like Rogaine can stimulate hair growth and while it doesn’t mean your hair will be as lush and full as it was before, you can minimize, if not eliminate, bald spots just by regular application.

Hair implants may be the logical solution. But hair grafting needs stable hair donor areas from which to source hair strands and most women suffering from female pattern baldness have falling hair coming from all over the head. On the other hand, men just usually have bald spots on top, leaving dense hair on the sides and back, which make it ideal sources of donor strands.

When hair loss becomes too bothersome, consult a specialist to determine how bad your condition is and if you qualify as candidate for hair implants. Otherwise, you may have to go with non-invasive procedures to revive your crowning glory.

Vitamins for Healthier Hair

When it comes to getting your hair to look its best many women often over look the basics. Instead of relying solely on expensive cuts, the latest styles, and expensive shampoos, focus on improving the hair itself. Nothing will improve the look and feel of your hair more than proper nutrition.

Most women are in such a hurry with their daily lives they do not have the time it takes to eat a complete and balanced diet. Hair requires a steady dose of essential vitamins and minerals to grow and stay healthy. Most styling regimes are rough on hair causing even more damage.

Your first step to better hair is proper nutrition that ensures your hair receives all the vitamins and minerals it needs. Many people opt for vitamins for hair growth to help supplement their diets. Taking a healthy hair vitamin will ensure you hair has the nutrition it needs to look and feel its best.

Hair Loss Company Being Sued

Again, a lawsuit has been filed against the pharmaceutical company Merck Frosst Canada and co-companies that promote Proscar and Propecia.

Both products have the same generic name Finasteride. Proscar is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland. Propecia is marketed as a hair loss treatment; it inhibits the enzyme 5-alpha redutase. This enzyme is needed to convert testosterone to Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), an active metabolite of testosterone that is actually the cause of androgenetic alopecia. On the other hand, DHT is an important hormone as it is responsible for a lot of male related functions like libido or sexual drive.

A male Canadian who is still in his early 20s filed the lawsuit against the company because was suffering from lack of interest in sex. He started using Propecia because of his thinning hair and later stopped using it when the signs of decreased libido became obvious.

But the problem got worse, even after seeking a specialist the problem still persisted. He also claims that the warning label has not been updated, unlike the company’s counterpart in the UK.
